About the Campus

Get to know the New Mexico campus

Intel began operations in New Mexico in 1980 with 25 employees on a small piece of land previously used as a sod farm. Today, more than 1,200 employees manufacture microprocessor technology that powers data centers and hundreds of millions of smart and connected devices worldwide. Our Rio Rancho campus is an important part of Intel’s global technology development and manufacturing network supporting both our Silicon Photonics technology, as well as Optane ™ development and NAND Pathfinding and Research work.
